President’s Volunteer Service Award

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is an opportunity to honor the most outstanding volunteers and recognize the impact they make. We are excited to announce that SLOBs has been approved to administer the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). This award allows you to get credit for both your SLOBs and approved non-SLOBs volunteer work.

SLOBS is able to administer this optional award, which allows SLOBs members to receive credit for community service hours worked for non-SLOBs philanthropies in addition to their SLOBs-approved hours.  The threshold for qualifying for a PVSA award is 50 annual hours of service; it is 100 hours if you were over 16 at the beginning of the SLOBs year (May 1, 2019). Recipients receive a certificate and letter of appreciation signed by the President of the United States.

Applications for the PVSA are due by April 1, 2020. Please mail your PVSA forms (see below) and a check for $8 (payable to MVLA SLOBs) by March 30, 2020 to: Anne Marie Gallagher, 13600 Golden Hill Court, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022.

To learn more about the PVSA, review the FAQs document. A PVSA Hours Worksheet is also available for you to print and use for hours tracking. Still have questions? Contact Anne Marie Gallagher amgallagher@sbcglobal.net.
